The Problem
Frontline conservation organisations cannot dismantle transnational criminal networks alone. While essential for protecting specific species and physical landscapes, they are rarely equipped or legally mandated to pursue sophisticated criminal syndicates. Simultaneously, official law enforcement agencies are frequently constrained by rigid national boundaries, bureaucratic friction, and complex political realities. As a result, wildlife trafficking networks operate globally at an industrial scale, while conservation responds case by case. Our Solution
Founded in 2021, Langland is a UK-registered charity established to close this persistent operational gap. We fuse cutting-edge conservation data science with expertise from the national security and intelligence communities.Sophisticated trafficking networks are constantly evolving their techniques to avoid detection. Because these networks constantly shift, our technological capabilities do too. We deploy a broad spectrum of investigative tools ranging from deep open-source intelligence (OSINT) aggregation to machine learning applied to high-resolution satellite imagery to edge computing to ensure we always have the right solution for the mission.Vision
A future where wildlife and wild spaces across the globe are protected from exploitation.
Mission
To dismantle the criminal networks driving illegal wildlife trafficking.
Values
Precision
We eliminate noise by making decisions only from verified intelligence and clear evidence thresholds, never assumptions.Discretion
We operate security-first at all times, protecting data, operations, and partners.Agility
We adapt fast, shifting focus as intelligence, risk, and opportunities change. Effectiveness
We only pursue work that enables clear, decisive action by partners in the field. Force Multiplication
We prioritise partner strength over organisational visibility, enabling others to achieve results beyond their scale.
It takes a network to defeat a network.
